Gawler and District College Foundation Inc.

Aims:

The Gawler & District College Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization that was established in 2006 to aid and assist the Governing Council of the College to preserve, develop and maintain the standards and facilities of the College. 

The Foundation:

• Provides the opportunity to support students of Gawler and District College B-12 financially with their learning in a range of nominated Focus Areas including, Sporting Ability, Artistic Talent (in Music, Drama or Visual Arts), General Academic Ability, Academic Ability in Japanese, Academic Ability in STEM Subjects, Financial Disadvantage, Leadership Ability and Trade Aspirations.
• Provides an award for the DUX of the College annually

We welcome support from Community Sponsors and Corporate sponsors (min. $250/year) to continue and increase opportunities for our students through our scholarship program.  
The Foundation enjoys Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Taxation Office which means that all donations are tax deductible. 

The Board:

• Meets monthly, supporting the sponsorship program by actively seeking the support of more community sponsors and providing opportunities for sponsors and student recipients of scholarships to meet.  

Annual Events:

• Sponsorship Morning Tea - where sponsors and their student scholarship recipients meet to discuss the benefits of receiving the scholarship and provide mentoring opportunities.
• Meet and Greet Pre-Awards Evening - new scholarship recipients and their sponsors meet prior to receiving formal recognition of their achievement at the college annual awards night.
• DUX Assembly - whole school assembly to recognise the previous years college DUX based on their ATAR. 

These events provide a great opportunity for sponsors to hear how their financial assistance is used by the recipients to further their education and career aspirations.
