Senior Sub-School - Years 10-12
The aim of the Senior School is to build upon the successful foundations in the Middle Years. We are committed to providing all students in Years 10-12 with engaging, modern and flexible learning opportunities to enable learners to achieve the best possible outcomes for their future pathways. The Senior School is committed to developing strong personal relationships in a safe and supportive environment where the school, students and families work together towards positive student outcomes.
We aim to prepare our students with the skills, knowledge and capabilities required to successfully meet the demands required of 21st Century Learners. The Senior School curriculum is aligned to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) for students in Years 11 and 12 and the Australian Curriculum for students in Year 10.
Year 10 students are introduced to the SACE by studying the compulsory Personal Learning Plan (PLP) in Year 10. An outline of the SACE requirements can be seen in the pie chart on this page.
Many students at the school complete their SACE requirements with a Vocational Education Training (VET) component. Students are strongly encouraged to pursue a variety of post school pathways including University, TAFE, or employment.
Subject offerings available at each year level in the Senior School are located in the Curriculum Handbook section of this website
Gawler & District College is dedicated to supporting all students.
