Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Vocational Education and Training is industry specific training providing students with national qualifications which are recognised in SACE and can be obtained while the student is still at school.
The following courses are available on site at Gawler and District College B-12:
Construction Industries
- Certificate 2 Construction Pathways (Stage 1 SACE credits)
Certificate II in Construction Pathways provides a pathway to the primary trades in the construction industry with the exception of plumbing. Trade outcomes are predominantly achieved through an Australian Apprenticeship and this Certificate II allows for inclusion of skills suited for entry to off-site occupations such as joinery and shop fitting as well as carpentry, bricklaying and other occupations in general construction.
Hospitality, Tourism and Food Processing Industries
- Certificate 2 Cookery (Stage 1 SACE credits)
This course provides you with the skills to cook dishes and work in the hospitality industry. Learn how to work effectively with others; prepare food using equipment; produce dishes using a range of cooking methods; clean and use hygienic practices; maintain food; prepare sandwiches; produce stocks, sauces and soups.
NASSSA (Northern Adelaide State Secondary Schools' Alliance)
In addition to the above courses, Gawler and District College B-12 is a member of the NASSSA alliance which allows students to access courses at all NASSSA sites opening a vast range of opportunities. Available courses can be viewed here.
