Year 9 HASS Excursion - Geography - Adelaide Oval
Miss Gabbana, Miss Impala and SSO Donna took a group of Year 9 students on a excursion to the Adelaide Oval, the Riverbank Precinct, and Rundle Mall as part of the students Geography curriculum. Students participated in a guided tour of Adelaide Oval, exploring the history and behind the scenes of one of South Australia’s most iconic landmarks. They learned how the venue hosts major sporting events and performances by world-renowned artists and musicians, attracting thousands of visitors and boosting South Australia’s tourism industry.





After the tour, students explored the Riverbank Precinct, investigating how cultural events such as the OzAsia Festival, Fringe, and Illuminate Adelaide enhance Adelaide’s cultural identity and contribute to the growth of the local economy and tourism sector. The day concluded with a visit to Rundle Mall, where students examined the city’s key attractions and gained a deeper understanding of its function as Adelaide’s central hub for commerce, tourism, and community connection.
